Power of Children

Power of Children: Making a Difference, National Endowment for the Humanities and Mid-America Arts Alliance, 2015

Design and fabrication of nationally touring exhibition.

Power of Children: Making a Difference highlights the struggles, strengths, and courage of three extraordinary children. Confronted by extreme hardship, Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, and Ryan White left truly inspiring legacies. As a result, this exhibit takes the viewer into their worlds. Their stories are ones from which we can all learn.

In addition, this exhibition features several freestanding units focused on thematic areas. Besides a collection of objects, artifacts, photographs, and paper ephemera, there are also audio/video features, interactive components, and wall-mounted banners and graphics for the viewer to interact with.

Based on a permanent exhibition housed at the The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Flutter & Wow took the existing concept and added our own design work to create exhibits that were interactive and bold. The result is an exhibition that tackles sensitive topics with grace, without shying away from truth. Strong accessibility in our interactive design work means that every visitor has a chance to become immersed in the space. Our exhibit has toured nationally.
