Digital video brings new capabilities to the traditional technique of chromakey. Also known as green screening, video images can be superimposed and mixed together, or composited. Flutter & Wow implemented this custom software for people of all ages to explore at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. It’s more than just a green screen, it’s an interactive video exhibit.
You might not know it, but you see the results of this technique frequently. Look to science fiction movies, television commercials, and weather forecasts. In Pixel Play, you can be the subject of video compositing, and watch yourself fall into a plate of spaghetti, grow into a giant above a highway overpass, tumble in a laundry dryer, or swim in the deep ocean.
In short, custom software is part of what we do here at Flutter and Wow. Check out another fun example here.
