The Jewish Historical Society of Michigan and the Detroit Historical Museum present In the Neighborhood: Everyday Life on Hastings Street. This exhibition immerses visitors in the period between 1880-1930, when this neighborhood was an enclave of immigrants, particularly Jews fleeing from antisemitism in Eastern Europe in search of freedom and opportunity in the United States.
Flutter & Wow designed, fabricated, and installed a recreation of a kosher meat market, a typical apartment of the neighborhood, and a trunk with its artifacts, located inside the Robert and Mary Bury Community Gallery.
