Light and Optics Gallery

Light and Optics Gallery, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, 2005

Research, interactive design, fabrication and installation.

Light and Optics Gallery is a participatory space featuring over a dozen interactive exhibits and more than twenty visual effects. Without a doubt, these exhibits illuminate the unique phenomena of its subject matter in a hands-on way that is fun for the entire family!

For example, visitors can interact with a laser spirograph or stringless laser harp. Test how prisms and rainbows reflect light. Experience colorful noble gas lamps and how their effects brighten up the gallery. From diffracting light through packing tape to watching it glitter from a butterfly’s wing, Light and Optics is as comprehensive as it is marvelous.

In addition to design work, Jason of Flutter & Wow fabricated this interactive exhibit space at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. For another example of interactive exhibits Flutter & Wow has created, click here.
